Giveaway and Beauty: Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 avant premiere

Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 inspired makeup look

Hey guys, fun post today! I mean my posts are always fun (I'd like to think) but today is a two-for-one. First, I'm giving away THREE sets of two tickets (so six tickets in total) to go see Guardians of the Galaxy in IMAX at the night of its exclusive premiere at Kinepolis Brussels, April 25th. Second, I'm sharing a makeup collab I did with my lovely sister, inspired by two of GotG's most kick-ass female characters. We were both pretty proud of the end result, so you're in for a treat!

Wanna see what kind of intergalactic monsters, Baby Groot cuteness and Star Lord quips are in store for us this time around? Check out the trailer!

Confession time: I was blown away by the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I have always been a fan of the genre, but in the years before the first GotG I had slowly reached a sort of superhero fatigue where I did not get as excited about new releases as I used to. Guardians of the Galaxy felt different, though, from the first time I saw the trailer. I didn't know what to think of that talking raccoon, and I had never even heard of the original comic books, but the trailer had an amazing soundtrack and some really funny moments so I went to see it when it premiered. And boy, did I fall in love.

GotG had this spark that I had been missing for a long time. A big adventure, a colorful and memorable cast of main characters, and a type of joy that was a breath of fresh air after a bunch of more realistic, gritty comic book adaptations. Honestly, I felt like a kid again watching this movie, the type of experience I remember from watching Star Wars or Indiana Jones for the first time. A true, vintage/oldschool action comedy with a huge heart, set in space. And that, my friend, is a pretty big compliment.

Obviously, I couldn't wait to see Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, and if you're with me, this is your chance to experience the #GOTG2BE premiere IMAX style with a bunch of fans on April 25th! If you want to win a set of two tickets for you and a fellow Guardians Geek, simply leave a comment here with a way for me to contact you, or send me an email at thestylingdutchman@hotmail.com. I will pick three winners Saturday the 22nd, 8pm. Keep an eye on your inbox ;-)

Gushing about the movie with my sis, who is equally excited about this movie, we felt inspired to put together a makeup look inspired by Gamora and Nebula, two main characters from the first movie who will be returning in vol. 2. We wanted to think outside the box without veering into cosplay territory, and we had a blast playing with makeup and getting creative. Obviously, I'm Gamora, and my sister is Nebula. She's kind of Karen Gillan's lookalike AND she has blue hair, so that was a no-brainer.

As you can see, we went with the main color scheme of both characters to create a sort of wearable look - but still funky enough to turn heads of course! For Nebula my sister used blues and purples, while I worked with green, black and fuchsia for Gamora. Oh, and that purple ombre is photoshop, sorry ;-)
